That girl
She didn't choose to be this way
Born into a family well-to-do
Raised as a princess
Sibling rivalry was never an issue
She got whatever she wanted
But through the growing up years
Her status invited prejudice
from people in the high society
They were called her 'friends'
But behind her back,
they became her enemies
She tries to defend herself
But things only got worse
Her every action called into question
Her behaviour being watched
She feels breathless
No where to run to
No one to turn to
Her only glimmer of hope dashed
by the two people placed in charge of her
She runs out of the palace
to get some fresh air
and searches for company elsewhere
Never mind the superficiality
Any conversation will do
A man picks her up
and buys her a drink
She is vulnerable.
But who is to blame?
The one, the two, or the mob?
She reaches a stage of nonchalance
Why bother?
She allows herself to be overtaken by her desires
She follows him home...........
