KaRaoKe SeSsiOn tO thE mAx!!!!!!!

ok...yesterday's dinner was a blast... i didn't really enjoy the dinner as much when i compare it to
the karaoke singing session that we had..


The "younger" generation of ppl had a table to ourselves.. namely Lindy (who came late), evan (who also came late), shawn, jordan, caleb chan, amos, melissa, jackson and kenny gan and me or course!..


We sang a mix of cheena songs and english songs.. had some videos and pictures taken but havent got them yet.. haha.. but it was great.. the old timers like uncle stanley sang really old school songs like country road, greeen green grass, unchained melody and others... whereas the hipsters like us sang ah mei's songs, and emil chow's songs (quite old school too but not that old).. too bad they didn't have jay chow if not melissa would have a chance to sing.. but i think she did enjoy herself too..


there were 3 main highlights yesterday.. these people got awards for.... THE BEST DANCE GROUP, THE BEST ASPIRING TRANSLATOR and THE BEST DUET?


The best dance group category award went to the "Do, Re, Me and Fa" group which comprised of a soloist, aunty Ruth, and the dancers.. Do (Amos), Re (Deniece), and Me (Melissa) who sang and danced to the song I WILL FOLLOW HIM by XXX


The best aspiring translator category was won by A-MOSQUITO! ok.. no i'm just kidding.. His name is AMOS!!.. He captured the laughters of the whole restaurant by translating the whole song UNCHAINED MELODY into Hokkien!?!?!?! yeap! Take it away man! "Wa Ai... Wa Ai Li Eh Sim Ah!" was one line that was translated from the original "I Need Your Love.."


Bring it On! The Duos that got the best duet award was none other than Jackson and Kenny G.!! They rocked the house with.. er.. all the other songs that was dedicated but no one sang.. oh well.. anyway... they won the award for singing with lotsa GUSTO and PASSION.. (despite the splitting pants.. but i won't say who.. keep guessing!!)
and finally... i forgot to mention... the most important award...


The MOST Romantic Singer!!!!!!!!!! He's none other than my beloved COUSIN!! Shawn Chow!! He took her away with "DUI MIAN DE NU HAI KAN GUO LAI" hOOray!! Applauses please!! Well.. the nu hai didn't really "kan guo lai" although he tried his best to reach every high note especially in the chorus.. The lyrics were just apt to describe his feelings ya? "WO ZUO KAN YOU KAN, SHANG KAN XIA KAN... YUAN LAI MEI GE NU HAI DOU BU JIAN DAN" .. haha.. i tried my best to get a picture of him singing with her in the pic but she kept looking down to her food.. guess she was playing shy??? haha.. Hopefully she will recipocrate... (*winks)

The Finale item closed the whole event with a bang!!!! bang!!! bang!!!


Our team Screeeeaaaammmmed to the song by Bon Jovi, yeap you guessed it! "IT'S MY LIFE!".. we went "jeng! jeng!" (imitating the electric guit).. and changed some of the lyrics... we couldn't make sense of the name Frankie in there so we changed it to.. "Like PASTOR said.. I did it my way" and we also didn't think Tommy and Gina made sense... so we sang "For ALAN and GINA who never backed down"... haha.. go on! laugh! ok.. stop laughing..


Right... so sad to say.. we've come to another end of an exciting episode of Karaoke to the max!! Make sure you catch us next time!! Bye bye!!
