Desert Song

"Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.” -Shakespeare

My email to my friends :)

Hi friends,

I just want to keep you in the loop of things! I've been very blessed by the sermon last week and I really enjoyed cell Sunday because it gave each one of us the opportunity to talk about our faith journeys. And as we were sharing, I felt moved by what the Lord is speaking to the different people in my group as they shared their powerful testimonies. I was deeply encouraged.

I hope that the little nuggets of pointers will help you along in your faith journey too. At the end of this email are the two questions that we discussed last Sunday in small groups and I hope that you will be able to share with us your thoughts too! We all need encouragers!

TRANSFORMING FAITH

Scripture: Hebrews 11:1-3 (MSG)

1-2The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It's our handle on what we can't see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.

3By faith, we see the world called into existence by God's word, what we see created by what we don't see.

  1. Vision/Revelation
  2. Confession
  3. Action
  4. Reality/Realisation
    • For the vision/revelation of faith to become reality, confession and action must take place, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
    • Sometimes the way you want reality to come to pass will not happen your way.
    • Romans 16-22
  5. Glorification
    • We must glorify God in everything we do.

  • Our faith must be proven, through trials and testings.
  • "Faith is a fact. Faith is an act."
Question 1: What has been your greatest transformation since you know the Lord?
Question 2: What are some ways we can develop our faith?

This is a very exciting sermon series that will be continued next month, so keep a look out for it! We hope to hear on your thoughts about FAITH. Let us encourage one another!

Regards,
Deniece Foo

There is only one devotion, to God. My belief, strong and unmovable. I believe in God, the only creator of the universe, the only creator of you and me. Through God, all things hold together. But the Godhead does not only consist of one person, he shares a divine relationship with His son, Jesus Christ, whom he sent to die for us and His Spirit, who is the paraclete to all mankind. If there's one thing i want to share with everyone i know, that is the good news. Christ did it, we receive it. There is nothing greater in this world than knowing his love for us.
